Tigers all the Way!
As I write about the stats and use numbers to predict what will happen in the 2022 tournament, I am here to say one thing. I am a Memphis Tigers fan 100%. So even though my stats tell me differently and my mind begs caution, I am here to say the Memphis will make a run! The Memphis Tigers are and will continue to be the team no one will want to face.
And if they win it all and blow up my or anyone else’s bracket, I could care less. The opportunity to win the bracket will be back next year. The time that is this special Tigers team is now!
A lot of people have said I’m crazy all year for my steadfast belief in this team. You’ll hear me yelling from the cheap seats at every home game. It’s probably in support of any of the Tigers players as they fight to win each game. Or it may be the loud voice criticizing every bad call (yeah, that usually means not in favor of the Tigers). But from the beginning I saw a lot to be excited about. That excitement has waned little during the season despite the tough times. See, sometimes that’s what it takes to build that team. That team that can win it all.
Am I delusional? Of course I am. I’m a Tigers fan. But it’s that delusional optimism that drives us and our team forward. We don’t claim that it’s us against everybody lightly. Sometimes that is how it feels. And most of the times that is how it is. Yes, delusional and paranoid.
But we have a team that is like no other. We finally have the blend of young stars and seasoned veterans. And we have a team that will dive on the floor, over the ball and on top of you for the loose ball. We also have a team that at moments show the flash and drive that could make them a title contender.
I love them all. They are a great bunch of guys with a great coach. Yeah, you heard me. If not, get the cotton out of your ears and listen carefully.
The Tigers are going to make a statement that they have survived and are ready to bring it.
